What Projector should I Choose?

Choosing the best projector depends on many factors, there are many brands to choose from, different features such as brightness, resolution, aspect ratio, size, throw distance, mounting options, lens shift and many other options that make each projector different.  Some tips on choosing we recommend are as follows:

Purpose - Decide what you will use the projector for (Theater/Gaming or Data Presentation)

Aspect - Choose an aspect ratio (16:9 HDTV Windscreen or 4:3 standard screen)

Deciding on the options above will help narrow down the list of projectors you may choose from.

Lighting - this is important, How dark you can get the room will also determine what projectors will work best in your situation (ex. If you need a projector for a church or other establishment, you may have nearby windows that you cannot cover, if the room stays bright then you will need a brighter projector)

Choose a screen size - choosing a screen size will determine the distance the projector will have to be mounted based on the projectors Throw Distance and zoom capabilities. (this will also determine what projectors will work for your application especially if you are working with a small room, or a room that may have ceiling fan(s) because the projector will have to be mounted at a distance away from the screen that is based on the screen size and the throw distance

Resolution - The projectors resolution will determine how crisp and clear the picture is, the higher the resolution the better the picture.

Contrast - Ratio between the darkest black and the whitest white, the higher the contrast ratio the better the dark colors will be because the projector will produce more of a black and a low contrast will produce a "faded" looking black.

for your convenience, Try to have as much of this information as you know available such as Lighting, Purpose, Preferred Aspect ratio, Screen size, and if applicable, the dimensions of the room you will install this projector in. (also, let us know if there is a fan or light in the ceiling and how far back from where you will mount your screen...)

JVC video projectors are used in some of the most demanding applications, from flight simulators to medical imaging to the home theaters of Hollywood directors and devoted enthusiasts. And while there is a JVC projector engineered specifically for each application, they are all based on the same JVC technology – D-ILA.
